The rain is finally gone! I just took the long way home from church through Helotes Hills and kept it a gear lower than usual to listen to listen to the motor. Plan is the wash it this afternoon and go out after dinner for a drive to nowhere.

Stoooop. I still need to find one more 219m wheel before I have the set of 4 and can throw them on my car.

Are those style 219s? I think I got thrown off cause they’re not the gun metal finish. Mine a occasionally silver, they're just covered with break dust at the moment.

Yeah those are definitely 219's. Here’s mine. Spokes all look the same, 260m’s are the other wheel that looks very similar but has more narrow spokes.

Yeah that was confusing me, I could never tell for sure what I had. Interestingly, the window sticker for the 128i says the style wheels that came on the car.

My 335i window sticker says the style wheel yet my 328i window sticker doesn’t, pretty weird.

I was kinda disappointed that the wheels the car came with weren't in the VIN. Your cars both E9Xs?

Yeah, 335i is an E92 6mt and the 328i is an auto E90. Love this chassis!

Nice, I’ve got myself an auto 128i right now as well until someone buys it from(2 BMWs and 0 job doesn’t make sense), I figured with the auto and it being a 128i as opposed to a 135i it’d be slow, but it’s actually decently quick. I think I spoiled myself and it’s gonna be hard to own anything else going forward. I would buy another E90 when the time for another second car comes, probably a stick 328i.

M3 and 128i is a good combo. Good luck on the job search. Honestly if the 328i was stick I probably wouldn't even have the 335i. But I definitely suggest looking at a 335i if you're considering another E9x because they are just the perfect daily driver. The torque makes traffic a breeze and I still get mpg about on par with the 328i (better on the highway honestly).

It is a pretty good combo, I would get another 1 series if the opportunity came up, it’d have to be a stick though. Honestly I would really like a 335d, I test drove one and was like, damn I could DD this, too bad they never came in a stick. A E9X 335i or 328i with a stick would also fit the bill nicely.

Oh yeah the 335d is just awesome. A tune puts you at nearly 500tq with no other mods, it’s crazy! The 335i’s reliability isn't as bad as everyone made it seem. I can only imagine how fun this engine is in the 135i. If I could find a stick 135i in the right color, it would be tough to walk away! After driving auto for so long, getting back into a manual has just been the best. It's not even bad in northern Virginia traffic.

My dad has a 135is and I can assure you that it is pretty awesome, it’s got the DCT but still a blast. He actually had something go wrong with the engine recently but BMW fixed it under warranty, I don’t remember what it was but I do remember he was missing it the whole time.

I've driven the DCT in the E9x M3, and it's definitely very quick. I've only had 1 problem so far and it was a charge pipe that broke. Bought a better aftermarket one for $200 and installed it myself in 45 minutes (I'm not a big DIY guy btw). I got it with 60k last October and it's already at 70k! It's just so much fun to drive, combined with being back in a manual I just look for reasons to go out and drive lol.

I used to be against DCTs, but after driving one, I get it. I like the 6 speed more, I feel more connected to the car. You steer an auto BMW, you drive a manual one. I don’t even need an excuse to go drive mine, wanting to drive it is enough for me. I used to work out in the oil field and on days off I had to get my daily joyride in, I’ve put about 16k on it since I got it in July of 2014.
